Job Description
As Benefits Manager you report to the Head of Human Resources Basel and you are part of the HR Leadership Team. Within this role you contribute measurably to the organization’s achievement by providing benefit strategies, policies and programs that align with the Company’s objectives and by delivering competitive benefit programs to meet those needs. Furthermore, this role includes responsibility for ensuring a highly efficient day-to-day administration of all benefits programs and frequently interaction with senior management as well as with our partners at Group HR Benefits and other Swiss Roche affiliates.Within this role, your main responsibilities are:
- Providing strategic leadership for our employee benefit offering across our Swiss affiliates and, support of diverse needs of over 10.000 employees
- Accountable for strategic direction, planning, alignment, design and financial oversight of the benefit plans and programs in Switzerland and assuring they are consistent with the guiding principles and philosophy of Roche
- Being Partner of business and site leaders across Switzerland and navigate within a large, matrixed organization
- Collaboration with global Benefits partners and stakeholders: By using strong leadership and stakeholder management skills, you ensure effective communication, decision-making and negotiation with stakeholders, vendors and service providers
- You recommend strategies to manage benefit costs, balancing employee and company priorities, work across functions to influence and ultimately integrate deliverables
- Ensuring that benefit offerings are market competitive, fiscally responsible and legally compliant by meeting local market practices, trends and requirements
- Proactively managing benefits of internal and external vendors and outsourcers; Ensuring that service levels are made
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate possesses the following experiences and skills:
- Bachelor degree, Master degree is a plus; 10 years of experience in HR/Benefits; Experience within a matrix organization is highly desirable
- Financial and analytical acumen required
- Strong experience in developing and coordinating innovative and progressive benefits programs within the necessary infrastructure to run these programs in a cost efficient and user-friendly fashion
- Strong ability to identify stakeholders, to build and coordinate stakeholder management and engagement
- Ability to quickly learn the drivers of the company and the challenges in attaining business goals, ability to then leverage this understanding to develop, implement and maintain programs that support the achievement of those business goals
- Experience in using solid judgment to weigh complex factors and to compete priorities to make autonomous decisions
- Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, ability to persuade and influence at all levels in a professional and positive manner
- Excellent written and spoken German and English skills are a must
