Job Description
- Responsible for processing company payroll.
- Ensures accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings and company deductions.
- Prepares statistical reports on team member pay, commissions and bonuses, vacation, sick, disability and workers compensation leave, taxes and withholdings.
- Maintains records, ledgers and files.
- Serves as liaison to team members and with third party payroll vendors to ensure payroll processing accurately reflects company specific pay policies.
- Audits team member pay records, and reconciles totals by department, location, country, etc.
- Interprets pay policies, (e.g., vacation, LOA, disability, workers compensation, union contracts, government regulations, withholding exemptions, etc.) and ensures appropriate amounts/deductions are calculated and applied to the various accounts correctly.
- Verifies compliance with federal and state payroll requirements, and stays current with changes in the law.
- Documents payroll processes and procedures.
- Ensures all processes and procedures meet government requirements.
- May assist with audits of internal records, workers compensation, tax filings, related documentation, and SOX testing.
- May work with outsource vendors to ensure accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing
- Knowledge of basic principles, methods, technologies and practices of a professional/technical field.
- Apply a basic understanding of the underlying principles of a professional discipline -typically obtained through formal study.
- General knowledge of procedures and activities within own work area.
- Ability to relate actual day-to-day work to business priorities.
- Focused on learning the key aspects and duties of the job being performed.
- Works under general direction, seeks assistance as needed.
- Completes work in accordance with accepted practices within field.
- Establishes approaches for completing assignments.
- Adjusts to multiple demands and shifting priorities; accepts responsibility for results of actions.
- Works with team to support achievement of project milestones and deliver on internal and/or external commitments.
- When assigned to a customer team, supports small project teams or specific components of a customer engagement.
